Irbid Governorate and Yarmouk Water Company Strengthen Cooperation to Support Water Security and Serve Citizens Irbid – Irbid Governor Firas Abu Al-Ghanam and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yarmouk Water Company Dr. Osama Al-Muhaisen reaffirmed the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination between the Governorate and the Company to support water security, ensure the sustainability of water and wastewater services, and further improve services provided to citizens. The remarks came during a meeting held at the Irbid Governorate headquarters, attended by Yarmouk Water Company General Manager Ghislain Juvanon and senior officials from both the Governorate and the Company. The meeting reviewed the current status of water services, summer preparedness plans, and mechanisms to enhance cooperation in support of the Company’s operational programs. Governor Abu Al-Ghanam stressed that, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, Irbid Governorate will continue providing full support to Yarmouk Water Company to facilitate the implementation of its operational plans. He emphasized that the Governorate will take firm action against illegal connections and any encroachments on water resources or networks in order to protect citizens’ rights and ensure fair water distribution. He added that the Governorate will continue coordinating with the Company and the relevant authorities to monitor water supply programs, address operational challenges, and ensure uninterrupted services, noting that water security is a national responsibility that requires close cooperation among all public institutions. For his part, Dr. Al-Muhaisen affirmed that securing water supplies for citizens remains the Company’s highest priority. He explained that Yarmouk Water Company is implementing a comprehensive strategy focused on improving operational efficiency, reducing non-revenue water, strengthening financial sustainability, upgrading infrastructure, and enhancing service quality in line with the policies of the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, the Water Authority of Jordan, and the Company’s strategic plan. General Manager Ghislain Juvanon reviewed the Company’s summer preparedness measures, emphasizing that the current priority is maintaining stable and uninterrupted water services while strengthening coordination with administrative governors and government agencies and intensifying field operations to ensure rapid response to any operational challenges throughout the summer season. He also highlighted the Company’s ongoing efforts, in cooperation with the Ministry of Water and Irrigation and the Water Authority of Jordan, to reduce non-revenue water, combat illegal water use and unauthorized connections, and improve operational and financial performance. He noted that field teams continue working around the clock to serve citizens across the governorates of Irbid, Jerash, Ajloun, and Mafraq.
